Time: Wednesdays 11.00 - 13.00

Location for Maxwell Institute students: Bayes Centre (room 5.46)

Module Leader: Irakli Patchkoria (University of Aberdeen)

Module Summary

This course will be a continuation of the course offered in Semester I. We will define the K-theory space and study its basic properties. We will prove the additivity, cofinality, and resolution theorems, and discuss the S dot and Q-constructions. We will then discuss localization of categories and the homology of the K-theory space. Finally, we will prove the localization theorem in K-theory. Each theorem will be accompanied by an explicit application.
