Module Overview: Continuum Mechanics
An introduction to a range of important topics in applied mathematics is taught in semester 1
- Continuum Mechanics (4 lectures by Debasish Das) tensors, kinematics; balance laws and governing equations; constitutive laws
- Fluids (5 lectures by Alexander Houston) Newtonian fluid dynamics; non-Newtonian fluids.
Assessment
The module will be assessed by two assignments. The first will be due for submission on 27th November 2023 and the second on 12th January 2024.
