2024-25: Research Skills Day
Friday 25th April 2025
The SMSTC Research Skills Day is an in person event at the University of Strathclyde, in collaboration with academics from our member institutions. Aimed primarily at first-year PhD students in the mathematical sciences, PhD students at any stage are welcome to attend!
This year we will have several talks on diverse topics, ranging from how to give a good math talk to where to ask for money to organise events and travel. Moreover, we have put together a panel of recent maths&stats PhD students from Scottish universities who will share with you their experience in an interactive fashion. You can have a peek at our panelists in the following links:
Tiffany Vlaar - PhD Mathematics 2022, Edinburgh.
Robin Mügge - PhD Statistics 2024, Glasgow.
